NYC Weather: Sunshine Returns As Hurricane Batters Southeast
Get ready for a sunny weekend before more rain hits next week.

NEW YORK — Time to let the sunshine in — at least for a couple days. New York City is expected to get a break from the rainy weather over the weekend before the remnants of Hurricane Florence pass through the region next week.
The skies will remain cloudy throughout Friday as the temperature hits a slightly warmer than normal high near 78 degrees, the National Weather Service says.
But the sun is expected to break through on Saturday as the clouds dissipate with the mercury reaching a high near 82, the weather service says. Much of the same is expected for Sunday.

The city's pleasant forecast comes as Hurricane Florence batters North Carolina with intense winds and heavy rainfall and continues to threaten much of the Southeast.
The bulk of the storm will miss New York City, but its remnants could drop up to two inches of rain when they pass through the region next week. Showers are expected from Monday to Wednesday, the weather service says.
