NYU Student Selected for 2023 Television Academy Internship Program
Madeleine Kern To Intern At FX Networks This Summer

New York University student Madeleine Kern has been selected for the prestigious Television Academy Foundation Internship program. She is one of just 38 students chosen by Television Academy members from across the country for the 2023 summer program. The Foundation’s annual Internship Program provides eight-week paid internships at top Hollywood studios and production companies to college students nationwide.
Kern, a senior this fall at NYU majoring in film and television, will be interning this summer in the development department at FX Networks in Los Angeles, CA.
“Over the last few years, I've discovered a passion for development,” said Kern. “I love getting the chance to discover and hone in on stories that need to be told. FX Networks is responsible for many of my favorite shows, and the opportunity to work with them on original programming is amazing. I can't wait to be in Los Angeles this summer to work and learn from the same people that I've looked up to for so long!”

“It's beyond exciting to have been chosen by Television Academy members for this internship,” said Kern. “I watch the Emmys every year and am incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to be an intern with the institution that runs them. It's mind blowing to think that my application was seen by so many influential members of the industry, and that they've given me a chance to make my mark! I hope to be a showrunner and eventually have my own production company.”
The Internship Program also provides professional development sessions with leaders in the television industry and customized seminars covering personal brand-building and navigating the job market ahead for participating students. Interns also become lifelong members of the Foundation’s alumni family giving them access to events and networking opportunities as they build their careers in the industry.
