Police Release Photo Of Suspected Harlem Subway Slasher

HARLEM, NY — Police are asking the public to help identify a man suspected of stabbing a man three times in a Harlem subway station Friday. Police released new photos (above) of the accused subway slasher.

The unidentified suspect allegedly got into a verbal argument with a 31-year-old man while riding a northbound 1 train, police told Patch. When the train stopped at the Broadway and West 145th Street station around 4:30 p.m. the suspect punched the 31-year-old in the face and stabbed him three times in the back with an unknown sharp object, police said.

The victim suffered non life-threatening injuries and was taken to Harlem Hospital for treatment, police said.

The accused slasher fled the subway station in an unknown direction, police told Patch. The NYPD is still investigating the stabbing and have not made any arrests, an NYPD spokeswoman told Patch.

The suspect is described as a man in his 30s standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 180 pounds, police said. The man has black hair and brown eyes, police said. He was wearing a blue jacket, blue shoes and a green book bag at the time of the attack, police told Patch.
