Radical Sips: An Evening Of Black Panther-Inspired Cocktails

Join Poster House for an evening of cocktails inspired by one of the latest exhibitions

Poster House, the first museum in the United States dedicated to the global history of posters, will host a Black Panther Party cocktail event at the museum in Chelsea on August 10 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased HERE.

Guests will enjoy a selection of three, hand-crafted cocktails, inspired by Poster House’s spring exhibition Black Power to Black People: Branding the Black Panther Party. Beverages will be developed by expert mixologist, DC-based restaurateur, Andra “AJ” Johnson. Additionally, guests will get an exclusive tour of the powerful exhibition led by curator Es-pranza Humphrey.

Black Power to Black People chronicle how the Black Panther Party, one of the most influential militant groups of the 1960s civil rights movement, devised a specific graphic language to reclaim Black humanity and decommodify Black life. The exhibition features 37 works and among the featured artists are Emory Douglas, Dorothy Hayes, and Danny Lyon. More information on the exhibition, and images of select works, can be found here.
