NEW YORK CITY — Add a raincoat to your Halloween costume — wet weather will return to New York City this spooky weekend.

A strong chance of rain is predicted starting Friday and into Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Friday night after 8 p.m. carries a 90 percent chance of rainfall.

"New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible," the forecast states.

Halloween itself is Sunday and luckily for trick-or-treaters the forecast predicts rain will stop that day.

But many Halloween weekend events — especially boozy spooky bar crawls — could be washed out.

The wet weather follows a nor'easter that soaked New York City over Monday and Tuesday.

About 3 inches of rain fell across the city during the storm, with some areas receiving much more. Fordham in the Bronx, for example, received 4.73 inches, according to National Weather Service rainfall totals.

The rain expected Friday and Saturday isn't predicted to reach those levels.
