SUV Driver Arrested After Fatally Striking Man On Grand Central Parkway

The 46-year-old man has not been identified yet.

NEW YORK CITY — An SUV driver has been arrested after she fatally struck a 46-year-old man crossing the Grand Central Parkway in Queens on Halloween.

Sharisa Hanson, 40, has been charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and motor vehicle license violation in connection with the Oct. 31 crash.

According to police, Hanson was driving her 2017 Infiniti SUV eastbound on the parkway when she hit the man near 29th Ave.

The man had been attempted to cross the parkway in an area not intended for pedestrians. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was taken to Long Island Jewish Forest Hills hospital in stable condition. Hanson's arraignment was pending as of Tuesday morning.
