Trump to Attend $250K-Per-Couple Fundraiser in Midtown Tonight

The president and his sons are on the guest list for the Republican National Committee's event Tuesday night, according to Bloomberg.

NEW YORK CITY, NY — President Donald Trump will come home to Manhattan on Tuesday to attend a Republican National Committee fundraiser at a swanky Midtown restaurant, according to news reports. Tickets to the GOP affair at Le Cirque, a French restaurant on East 58th Street, cost up to $250,000 per couple, Bloomberg Politics reported Monday.

The president's sons, Eric and Donald Jr., are also on the guest list alongside RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, Bloomberg reported, citing people with knowledge of preparations for the event.

Then-candidate Trump held a similar event at Le Cirque last June as he courted donors a month before the 2016 Republican National Convention, CNN reported at the time. Admission to that dinner reportedly required at least a $50,000 donation.

Le Cirque seems to be a favorite spot for Trump and his family. He's seen in several photos at the restaurant with owner Sirio Maccioni, and Donald Jr. attended an opening party for the restaurant in 2006.

The fundraiser will come the same day as a contested Republican primary for U.S. Senate in Alabama and the apparent failure of the GOP's latest effort to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, the Washington Post noted.

Trump's trip to New York City for the dinner will be a quick one, according to his public schedule. He's set to arrive at John. F. Kennedy Airport at 4 p.m., address RNC donors at 7:25 p.m. and leave the city at 9:25 p.m. The excursion will also include a visit to the U.S. Permanent Mission to the United Nations, Trump's schedule says.

In addition to the trio of Trump men, John Catsimatidis, the supermarket magnate and onetime GOP mayoral candidate, told Bloomberg he might attend.

"The one thing Donald Trump has done is the business people and banks are no longer the enemies, and the business people feel better and they are making investments," Catsimatidis told Bloomberg.
