UES Candidate Nets 2 Key Endorsements For AD-73 Race: See Who

NEW YORK CITY — New York City Comptroller Mark Levine and Assemblymember Keith Powers have formally endorsed a candidate in the Assembly District 73 race to replace Alex Bores.

Levine and Powers are backing Vanessa Aronson in the race to succeed Bores, who decided to run for Congress in New York District 12.

"Vanessa Aronson is one of the hardest-working public servants I’ve ever known,” Levine
said a statement. “From her service at Park Avenue Synagogue to her service as President of the
Lexington Democratic Club to her years of nonprofit leadership, Vanessa never stops
working for our communities. I cannot wait to see her lead for the East Side in Albany.”

Aronson, a 40-year-old Democratic candidate, previously ran for City Council in District 4 in June. Before running for office, Aronson, who is from Lenox Hill, worked as a public school teacher at MS 319, an advisor to the president at Hunter College and worked as a US diplomat overseas.

"I've known Vanessa Aronson for many years and cannot wait to serve alongside her in
Albany,” Powers said in a statement. “Vanessa brings the strength of character and steady leadership
we need for this exact moment. You won't find a more dedicated public servant. I'm proud
to offer Vanessa my full endorsement."

The 73rd Assembly District encompasses Murray Hill, Turtle Bay, Sutton Place, Midtown East, and the Upper East Side.

Aronson's campaign touts support from a cross-section of East Side leaders, including state legislators, City Council members, district leaders and state committee members. You view the full list of endorsements here.
