VIDEO: Is This The Craziest Man In NYC?

The straphanger's daredevil stunt got him a slice of viral fame

NEW YORK, NY – A man videoed clinging to the outside of a New York City subway train is taking the name "straphanger" to a whole new level. The footage, first posted to the Subway Creatures Instagram account, shows the subway surfer hanging onto the outside of the train's door and peering through the window.

As his T-shirt flaps in the wind, the man's face looks like he's either terrified by his newfound mode of transportation, or like he's done it dozens of times before.

Either way, he's a "gangsta" to the man shooting the video from inside the train.

The man hasn't been identified, but he could face a $75 fine for riding outside the train if the MTA finds out who he is.

Subway surfing is deadly. A 13-year-old boy was seriously injured last week when he hit a sign while riding between the cars on an F train near Coney Island, the New York Daily News reported. And a man died in December 2016 after falling off an F train near West Fourth Street, NY1 reported then.
