WATCH: NYC Releases Hip-Hop Video to Teach Kids How to Cross Street

NEW YORK, NY— NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) and NYC Department of Education have created a hip-hop music video to teach kids how to cross the street. And as usual when city agencies create a rap video, it's not the best.

Their heart is in the right place, but we're having a little trouble getting past the presentation.

"Cross This Way" has been adopted as the official pedestrian safety curriculum for all NYC elementary and middle schools. The curriculum is designed for fourth through sixth grades.

"Make sure the driver and your eyes meet, if you're not sure then skip away...," the song raps.

With choreographed dance moves and a catchy chorus, the video reminds children to stop on the curb, look before you cross, put phones away and keep looking.
