WATCH: NYC Releases Hip-Hop Video to Teach Kids How to Cross Street

"Cross This Way" has been adopted as the official pedestrian safety curriculum for all NYC elementary and middle schools. The curriculum is designed for fourth through sixth grades.

"Make sure the driver and your eyes meet, if you're not sure then skip away...," the song raps.
With choreographed dance moves and a catchy chorus, the video reminds children to stop on the curb, look before you cross, put phones away and keep looking.
