NEW YORK CITY — A rooftop party in the East Village turned tragic when a woman fell to her death after trying to climb between two buildings, according to reports.

Cameron Perrelli, 24, died early Saturday after a fall from a building on Avenue A near East 12th Street, the New York Daily News reported.

Perrelli attended a party on the rooftop of 202 Avenue A and tried to climb over the adjoining rooftop of 200 Avenue A, the Daily News reported. But she somehow lost her footing and fell multiple stories to the ground.

Doctors declared Perrelli dead at Bellevue Hospital, according to the Daily News. She had just started her career at an investment firm, the Daily News reported.

"The tragic death of a young person this weekend shows just how dangerous rooftop parties have become," Council Member Carlina Riversa tweeted.

Rivera said landlords across the city failed to provide safety features for the buildings even as rooftop parties have become more prevalent, according to AMNY. She's pushing local legislation to provide more oversight, AMNY reported.
