Woman’s Body Found Stuffed In Bin Amid Weekend Of NYC Violence
A man, 21, faces a murder charge on accusations he killed a woman and put her body in a plastic storage bin found Friday.

NEW YORK CITY — The discovery of a woman’s body inside a plastic storage bin kicked off a violent weekend for New York City.
A 911 call Friday brought NYPD officers to a Bronx address not far from Yankee Stadium, where they found Nisaa Walcott, 35, dead, authorities said.
Walcott was stuffed inside a plastic storage container, her ankles bound and injuries that pointed to strangulation as the cause of death, the New York Post reported.

Shortly afterward, police arrested Khalid Barrow — a 21-year-old man who was Walcott’s cousin — on requested charges of murder and concealment of a corpse, police said.
The grisly death wasn’t the only violent incident this weekend.

A dramatic shooting unfolded late Friday in East Harlem, when a gunman walked up to a First Avenue bodega near East 116th Street and shot Shaquell Gainey, 25, in the chest, police said.
Surveillance video released by NYPD shows the suspect fire multiple shots into the business, sending people running for cover.
Gainey died from a gunshot, authorities said.
The next incident occurred Saturday, when police received a 911 call about a stabbing in Gowanus, authorities said. They arrived to find two men, ages 25 and 21, with stab wounds to their chest and back, respectively, police said.
The 25-year-old — Marvin Pretto — was pronounced dead at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where the other man is listed in stable condition, authorities said.
Police arrested Jose Velasco, 19, on requested charges of manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon, authorities said.
The next violent incident unfolded Sunday morning when police found Charles Buckner, 38, dead inside a parked vehicle on Fifth Avenue near East 138th Street, authorities said.
Buckner had a gunshot wound to his head, police said. Shortly after, a man, 24, arrived at Harlem Hospital with a gunshot wound to his left arm, authorities said. It's unclear if or how the two shootings are connected.
