2,800 Without Power In Rockland After Overnight Storm

O&R reports power outages throughout its coverage area in the Hudson Valley.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — There are about 2,800 customers without power in Rockland County Monday morning after a Sunday storm brought high winds and heavy rain. O&R had restored power to about 2,000 customers as of 10 p.m. Sunday, leaving fewer than 200 without electricity.

But the winds picked up around 11 p.m.

There are even school delays in northern Westchester and Putnam counties, where NYSEG is trying to restore power to 13,000 customers.

O&R said on its website that it hoped to have the biggest outages, in Ramapo, restored by 10 a.m.; the second biggest, in Stony Point, by 1 p.m. Others are under assessment.
