2 Brothers Held Victim For Hours, As They Assaulted And Robbed Him: Police

One of the suspects is a Spring Valley resident, while the other is a Mahwah, New Jersey resident, according to police.

SPRING VALLEY, NY — Two arrests have been made in connection to a harrowing crime in Rcokland County.

The Spring Valley Police Department says that on Jan. 13, around 12:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery. Police said a victim had been held against his will for several hours, during which he was assaulted and had property stolen from him.

Investigators identified two brothers as the suspects, and arrested them on Monday.

Adil Awan, 39, of Spring Valley, was charged with felony second-degree robbery, felony second-degree kidnapping, misdemeanor third-degree assault, and second-degree harassment.

Adeel Awan, 44, of Mahwah, New Jersey, was charged with felony second-degree robbery, felony second-degree kidnapping, felony second-degree burglary, felony fourth-degree grand larceny, misdemeanor third-degree assault, and second-degree harassment.

The brothers were arraigned in the Spring Valley Justice Court and were remanded to the Rockland County Jail.
