2 Rockland Private Schools Make New List of NY's Best

New York has some of the top private schools in the nation, and two of them are in Rockland County, according to Niche.com's recently released 2017 Best Private High Schools in America.

Rockland Country Day School and Green Meadow Waldorf School are among 23 Hudson Valley schools that made Niche.com's list of New York’s top 100 private schools. Two of them cracked the top 10, and eight made it into the top 50.

The highest-ranking Hudson Valley school in the national list of 100 top schools was Rye Country Day School, which came in at No. 58 in America, followed closely by Hackley, which came in at No. 63.

Two of the highest-ranking schools nationally were Bronx schools that draw students from Westchester County. Horace Mann School was ranked No. 1 in New York and No. 6 nationally. Riverdale Country School was ranked No. 6 in New York and No. 33 nationally.

The rankings are "based on rigorous analysis of data from the U.S. Department of Education along with test scores, college data, and ratings collected from millions of Niche users," according to Niche.com. (Still skeptical? You can pick apart the site's full methodology here.)
