2,800 O&R Customers Still Without Power After Wind Storm

More than 7,000 lost power across the utility's coverage area.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — The storm that blew through the region overnight bringing frigid weather for the Presidents Day weekend caused power outages throughout the county.

So O&R crews have restored electric service to about 7,100 customers, a spokesman said at 11 a.m.

O&R reported at 10:09 a.m. Friday that 2,823 customers were still without electricity, most of them in Rockland — where 1,279 customers lacked power.

In Rockland, the largest outage was in Pomona, where 966 customers were out. Estimated time of restoration: 3 p.m.
