8-Year-Old Riding Bike Fatally Injured In Collision With SUV In Ramapo: PD

The child was pronounced deceased at the hospital, according to police.

RAMAPO, NY — An 8-year-old girl has died after being struck by an SUV while she was riding her bicycle Tuesday evening, according to police.

The accident happened around 5:39 p.m. near the intersection of Ravenna Drive and Tiffin Lane, police said.

A 2025 GMC Hummer operated by a 34-year-old Ramapo resident collided with the bicycle, according to police.

The bicyclist, also a Ramapo resident, was rushed to Nyack Hospital by Hatzoloh Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Medical staff at the hospital pronounced the child deceased, police said.

No criminal charges have been filed at this time, and the Ramapo Police Crash Investigation Unit is continuing its probe into the accident.

Police have not yet released the identities of the victim or the SUV driver.
