Accident on the New York State Thruway Results in Felony DWI Charge

The accident was minor, but the driver, police say, had been convicted of DWI before.

State Police responded to a minor accident on Interstate 87 at Exit 14B at 4:36 p.m., Oct. 18. Troopers observed that the driver of the vehicle, Jason H. Turnbull, 30, of Nanuet was uninjured and intoxicated.

He was brought to the state police headquarters in Tarrytown. Police said he provided a breath sample of 0.14 percent BAC.

Turnbull was charged with a felony DWI due to a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years. He is scheduled to appear in Ramapo Justice Court on Oct. 23.
