Airmont Resident Accused Of Kidnapping
Police got a call saying a woman and her child were being held somewhere.
AIRMONT, NY — A 32-year-old Rockland man accused of assaulting and kidnapping a woman and her child faces four felony and three misdemeanor charges.
A caller told Ramapo police on Tuesday that a woman and child were confined somewhere, and that the woman had been injured while being held against her will. Police investigated and located them at a home in Airmont. The woman was treated for her injuries at Good Samaritan Hospital, police said.
Joel Santiago, who was also there, was arrested. He was arraigned in town court and sent to the Rockland County Jail.

He faces two counts of first-degree kidnapping, as well as felony charges of first-degree unlawful imprisonment, first-degree attempted assault and first-degree aggravated criminal contempt; plus misdemeanor charges of criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
