TOWN OF RAMAPO, NY — Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the discovery of a body found under a parked truck.
The Ramapo Police Department says that on Saturday, around 7:15 a.m., they received a report about a body found on Park Avenue, in the Spring Valley section of Ramapo.
At the scene, officers found the body of an unidentified man, estimated to be between 27 and 34 years of age, underneath a parked truck.
Police say that at this time, there is no indication that the vehicle was involved in the incident, and that the death happened a while before the discovery of the body.
The incident is under investigation by members of the Ramapo Police Department Investigations Unit, along with crash investigators and accident reconstruction personnel.
While the body has not yet been positively identified, investigators say that they are pursuing leads to help confirm the identity.
Additional information is being withheld during the ongoing investigation. However, there is no known threat to the public at this time, according to police.
The Ramapo Police Department is collaborating with the Rockland County District Attorney's Office, the Spring Valley Police Department, the Rockland County Sheriff's Office, and other law enforcement partners.
