NEW CITY, NY — An investigation by federal, state and local law enforcement agencies has led to the arrest of a Hudson Valley man on charges related to child pornography.

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II announced on Friday the arrest of 33-year-old Dimitri Ferguson, of Spring Valley, following an investigation led by the DA's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC).

Ferguson was arraigned on May 6, in Spring Valley Justice Court, on a felony complaint charging him with possessing a sexual performance by a child.

"Protecting children from sexual predators using the internet to exploit them is a top priority for my Office and I'm proud of the work the Rockland County District Attorney's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force conducted," Walsh said.

The investigation was started after a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was referred to the ICAC Task Force.

The investigation was led by the DA's Office, the ICAC Task Force, New York State Police, and Homeland Security Investigations.

The results of the investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at Ferguson's home for electronic devices.

Ferguson was released on his own recognizance since the charges are non-bail qualifying offenses, according to the DA.

The case was prosecuted by Supervising Assistant DA Gerard M. Damiani III of the Special Victims Unit.
