I’m proud to announce the launch of the Global Rhythms Summer Festival, a three-part cultural celebration designed to capture the excitement surrounding the 2026 FIFA World Cup and introduce visitors to everything that makes Rockland such a special place to live, work, and explore.
Tourism is about much more than attracting visitors—it’s an investment in our residents. Every dollar spent at a local restaurant, boutique, hotel, or entertainment venue generates sales tax revenue that helps fund essential County services.
In fact, without tourism-generated revenue, the average Rockland household would have to pay an additional $675 annually in property taxes to maintain the same level of services.
That’s why my administration has made strategic investments in growing Rockland’s visitor economy. By aligning Global Rhythms with one of the most-watched sporting events in the world, we have an opportunity to welcome not only our own residents but also thousands of regional and international visitors expected throughout the New York metropolitan area this summer.
Supported by a Market New York grant through Empire State Development and I LOVE NY, the festival will transform three of our downtown communities into vibrant, globally inspired destinations filled with live entertainment, cultural performances, international cuisine, local shopping, interactive activities, and family-friendly experiences.
The festival will take place throughout the summer as follows:
June 27th, 1 – 5 pm: Pearl River, Central Ave Field
July 5th, 10 – 6 pm: Village of Nyack, Hezekiah Easter Square & S Broadway @ Hudson Ave
July 19th, 10 – 6 pm: Nanuet, Main St from Market St to Prospect St
Visitors will also enjoy interactive workshops, sports activities, and dedicated FIFA World Cup fan zones featuring large screens for match viewing, creating an atmosphere that celebrates both the global game and the local communities that make Rockland unique.
Events like Global Rhythms are part of a larger strategy to strengthen our downtown corridors, support small businesses, and encourage visitors to discover everything Rockland has to offer—from our scenic riverfront villages and outdoor recreation to our internationally inspired restaurants, locally owned shops, and welcoming neighborhoods.
When people visit Rockland, they spend money at our businesses, support local jobs, and help generate revenue that benefits every taxpayer. That is a win for our economy, our communities, and our residents.
I encourage everyone to come out this summer, experience the incredible diversity that defines Rockland County, support our local businesses, and join us in celebrating cultures from around the world.
