ROCKLAND COUNTY — A Garnerville man was arrested this week and charged with possession of child pornography, the Rockland County DA announced.
According to District Attorney Thomas Walsh, 34-year-old Chrisner Joseph had been arrested Aug. 18 after an investigation by the County DA's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
According to prosecutors, an investigation into Joseph began with a tipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which was referred to the DA's office and subsequently brought to the ICAC task force in April.
After investigation, prosecutors said a search warrant was executed at Joseph's West Haverstraw home on June 12. The search warrant, prosecutors said, revealed electronic devices that contained "numerous images depicting sexual performances by children less than sixteen years of age."
Joseph was released on his own recognizance, prosecutors said.
"Protecting children from sexual predators using the internet to exploit them is a top priority for my office and I'm proud and grateful for the work of the Rockland County District Attorney's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force," Walsh said.
