SPRING VALLEY, NY — An 18-year-old woman's recent report to police that she was sexually assaulted as a child has resulted in charges against a Suffern man, police said.
Detective Sgt. Randy DiPaolo said police launched an investigation after the woman lodged a complaint on Aug. 12.
The woman told police an adult male had assaulted her multiple times when she was 8-years-old, police said.
Detectives identified the suspect as Freddy Chicaiza-Quinde, 44, of Suffern, and police arrested him on Aug. 19, according to police.
Chicaiza-Quinde was charged with four counts of first-degree rape, five counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and one count of predatory sexual assault against a child, first-degree criminal sex act, and first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child.
He was arraigned in the Village of Spring Valley Justice Court and remanded to the Rockland County Jail, police said.
