Driver Intentionally Hit Juvenile In Spring Valley Parking Lot: Police

The female victim was knocked unconscious and broke her wrist, according to police.

SPRING VALLEY, NY — A New City man is accused of intentionally hitting and injuring a female juvenile with his vehicle in a Walgreens parking lot this month.

The victim told police she was knocked unconscious and broke her wrist.

Detective Sgt. Randy DiPaolo said the victim came to the police department around 2:22 p.m. on Sept. 5 to report she had been intentionally struck with a vehicle around 4:14 a.m.

Detectives launched an investigation and made an arrest on Sept. 7, police said.

Mike Tamay Mejia, 19, of New City, was charged with first-degree assault, tampering with physical evidence, first-degree reckless endangerment, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Tamay Mejia was arraigned this week in the Village of Spring Valley Justice Court, failed to post bail and was taken to the Rockland County Jail.
