HAVERSTRAW, NY — A suspect is in custody and officers are recovering after a quickly escalating incident this weekend.
On Friday, at 4:41 p.m., Haverstraw police responded to a home on a report of a disorderly man attempting to break in.
Responding officers soon located a vehicle matching the description provided. The officers ordered the driver to exit the vehicle, but the suspect instead accelerated directly toward an officer, striking and running over the officer before fleeing, according to the Haverstraw Police Department.

Catedral eventually crashed into a Haverstraw police car and was taken into custody, according to the department.
Three Haverstraw Police officers were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Catedral was taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
Catedral faces charges including aggravated attempted murder, second-degree assault, third-degree assault, criminal mischief, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and criminal possession of a weapon.
Catedral was arraigned in the Village of Haverstraw Justice Court where he was remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility.
Haverstraw police were assisted by the Stony Point Police Department, the Rockland County Sheriff's Office, the Clarkstown Police Department, New York State Police, and the Ramapo Police Department.
