Asking Strangers 1 Strange Question Eventually Leads To Teen's Arrest On Gun Charges On Main Street: Police
A car had been driving around town with three inside, asking those they encountered if they were in a gang, Haverstraw cops said.
HAVERSTRAW, NY — Suspicious behavior led to a teenage suspect with an illegal firearm, according to police in Rockland County.
On Saturday, at 10:44 p.m., the Haverstraw Police Department received a call reporting a suspicious incident involving a vehicle with those inside driving around the area and asking people if they were associated with any gangs.
After receiving a description of the vehicle, Haverstraw police pulled over a vehicle matching that description on Main Street. The car was occupied by three people.

One of the occupants, an 18-year-old from Spring Valley, was in possession of a loaded firearm, according to cops. The suspect was taken into custody, and he was charged with second-degree crimnal possession of a weapon, loaded firearm; third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, large capacity ammunition feeding device; and criminal possession of a firearm.
He was held overnight pending arraignment. The teenager was arraigned in the Village of Haverstraw Justice Court where bail was set.
