
NEW CITY, NY — A pedestrian was killed at 7:27 p.m. Friday in New City having been hit by a car.
Clarkstown Police received a report Friday evening of a motor vehicle accident involving a struck pedestrian at the intersection of Rt. 304 and Congers Road. Responding personnel found that a man was trapped beneath a Chevy Tahoe. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver and passengers of the Tahoe were uninjured. Victim is tentatively identified as a 58-year-old. His name is not being released at this time, pending positive identification and notification of family members.

The Clarkstown Police Department Accident Investigation Team conducted a comprehensive investigation of the events leading up to the accident. Rt. 304 was closed for hours between Third Street and Calvary Drive.
