Clarkstown police said the incident happened Christmas Eve.

CONGERS, NY — A train hit a car that was stuck on the tracks at the Lake Road grade crossing in Congers Sunday night. According to Clarkstown police, a southbound train struck the car.
The driver, who was the sole occupant, was able to get away from the car before the train hit it. The crossing was closed for an hour as a tow truck removed the car and a safety inspection was done on the tracks.
According to comments on the Clarkstown Police Department's Facebook page, the woman apparently mistook the tracks for the entrance to a restaurant.
