Charge Dismissed Against Spring Valley Mayor: DA

He had allegedly gotten into a shoving match with the village attorney.

Criminal charges pending against Demeza Delhomme of Monsey, New York over an alleged shoving match with the Spring Valley village attorney have been dismissed.

The incident happened at 12:20 p.m. Sept. 13 inside Spring Valley's Village Hall, Rockland County District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe said in his announcement. That's when Mayor Delhomme is alleged to have shoved Lawrence Weissmann at least three times.

According to the criminal charges, the parties were involved in a dispute over Weissmann’s use of municipal resources in his official capacity as Village Attorney.

However, after a thorough review, the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office requested a dismissal of the charge of Harassment in the Second Degree, a violation, in the interests of justice, Zugibe said.

Delhomme is 68 and has been mayor since 2013.
