Clarkstown District Sued By Security Guard

The 9/11 first responder claims retaliation for speaking out against a co-worker's improper sexual advances.

NEW CITY, NY — The Clarkstown school district has been sued by a security guard who claims the district retaliated against him for speaking about inappropriate sexual advances toward a minor student and cafeteria worker by a co-worker. Carlos Martinez, a 9/11 first responder, was transferred to a different school after reporting the incidents of sexual misconduct and his hours were changed.

He also claims a policy was initiated making it more difficult for him to continue medical treatments related to his Ground Zero service, the Journal News said.

Named in the lawsuit as defendants are the school district, Superintendent Martin Cox and Clarkstown North High School Principal Harry Leonardatos and others.
