CLARKSTOWN, NY — This year's valedictorians and salutatorians are an extraordinary group of young people. Patch asked them to answer a few questions about their high school experience and what they look forward to in the future.
Today, meet Rebecca Mathios, salutatorian at Clarkstown High School South.
Question: What will you miss most about high school?

Answer: I will miss my friends and the relationships I've built these past four years.
Q: What are you looking forward to in moving on to college?

A: I look forward to advancing my education and being able to learn about topics that interest me. Also moving on from high school and becoming independent.
Q: What was your favorite high school class?
A: AP Bio
Q: What clubs or extracurriculars were you involved in?
A: Soccer, Varsity Athletes Against Substance Abuse (VAASA), Viking Connection, Wellness Committee, and National Honor Society (NHS)
Q: What advice would you give to underclassmen?
A: Manage your time, get involved, and try not to worry too much about what others think of you.
Q: Any teachers/staff who stood out throughout your journey?
A: Mr. Harrigan, Mrs. Disavino, and Mr. Garbarino
Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: Happily working as a nurse practitioner or nurse anesthetist
Q: Tell us a fun fact about you.
A: I was a soldier in the Israeli Defense Forces last summer.
