Clarkstown North Advances in Robotics Tournament
The team competed March 24-26 at RCC in the Hudson Valley Regional FIRST Robotics competition.

NEW CITY, NY — Clarkstown High School North won the Rookie All Star Award at the Hudson Valley Regional FIRST Robotics competition.
Students from Clarkstown North were among 47 teams of high school students from the U.S. and Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, India, Turkey and the United Kingdom that competed at Rockland Community College March 24-26.
The Clarkstown North team qualified for the national finals in St. Louis. A total of seven teams, including Ossining High School, qualified.

"These young people are our future scientists, engineers, mathematicians and creative-thinkers," County Executive Ed Day said in a congratulatory announcement. "We can only imagine the advances in technology that they will make in their careers."
The County Executive also thanked FIRST New York for holding the event at Rockland Community College.

"Events like this bring young people together and give them an opportunity to learn and perfect their skills," he said.
Founded in 1989 and based in Manchester, New Hampshire, FIRST is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit public charity designed to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology, and to motivate them to pursue education and career opportunities in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering and math).
