Clarkstown Police Sgt. Sues Town Officials: News Report
The suit alleges the officer was stopped from looking into contributions to town officials from a dismissed member of the force.
A Clarkstown police sergeant has sued town officials, The Journal News reports.
In the suit, Detective Sgt. Stephen Cole-Hatchard said he was removed as director of the Rockland County Strategic Intelligence Unit because he had been checking up on a large contribution to local Republican campaigns — including Town Supervisor George Hoehmann — from a member of the force who had been dismissed, the paper reported.
The suit claims that the Town Board's suspension of Clarkstown Police Chief Michael Sullivan is related, according to TJN.
