Clarkstown School Calendar 2019-20: First Day Of School

NEW CITY, NY — The first day of school is Sept. 3 in Clarkstown — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you'll want to mark the dates on your calendar ASAP.

FYI, the Clarkstown Central School District's Registration Office will be located through Aug. 23 at The Community Learning Center, 9 Lake Road, Congers, NY 10920.

The calendars include important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for the 2019-20 school year:

August

• 8/19: Football starts
• 8/26: All other sports start
• 8/27-28: Superintendent Conference days

September

• 9/3: First Day of School
• 9/30: No School (Rosh Hashanah)

October

• 10/1: No School (Rosh Hashanah)
• 10/9: No School (Yom Kippur)
• 10/14: No School (Columbus Day)
• 10/16: Early Release (high schools only)

November

• 11/5: Election Day/ Conference Day
• 11/11: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/27-29: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/4: Early Release (all schools)
• 12/11: Early Release (elementary only)
• 12/23-31: No School (Holiday Recess)

January

• 1/1: No School (Holiday Recess)
• 1/20: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

February

• 2/3: Superintendent Conference Day
• 2/17-21: No School (Winter Recess)

March

• 3/4: Early Release (all schools)
• 3/11: Early Release (elementary only)
• 3/20: No School (Superintendent Conference Day, may change to early dismissal if needed to make up snow day)

April

• 4/9-17: No School (Spring Recess includes Passover 4/9 and Good Friday 4/10)

May

• 5/22: No School (Memorial Day, may be taken back to make up snow day)

June

• 6/23-26: Half Day (k-5)
• 6/26: Last Day Of School
