You may be thinking about how many more days you can go to the beach, but the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2015-16 school year in the Clarkstown Central School District.

First day of school: Sept. 1

Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 7

Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Sept. 14, 15

Yom Kippur (school closed): Sept. 23

Columbus Day (school closed): Oct. 12

Superintendent’s Conference Day (school closed): Nov. 3

First quarter ends: Nov. 6

School closed (Diwali and Veterans Day): Nov. 11

Early release: Nov. 18

Thanksgiving (school closed): Nov. 26-27

Holiday recess: Dec. 24-Jan. 3 (school resumes Jan. 4)

Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 18

Early release: Jan. 20

Superintendent’s Conference Day (school closed): Feb. 1

Presidents Day/Winter recess (school closed): Feb. 15-19

Superintendent’s Conference Day (school closed): March 11

Holiday recess: March 24-29

New York State testing: April 5-20

Spring recess: April 25-29

Early release: May 18

Memorial Day weekend (school closed): May 30

Clarkstown North graduation: June 22

Clarkstown South graduation: June 23

Weather Make Up Days Once we exceed four adverse weather condition days, weather make-up days will be taken in the following order: April 29, 28, March 29, 28, February 19, 18, 17, 16. * all in 2016
