“The Japanese language programs offered at Clarkstown Central School District were the first such programs at the high school level in New York State in 1963. Resumed in 1996, then expanded thereafter, the program has contributed to the development and advancement of Japanese language education in New York State as well as to the promotion of mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and the United States.”
