Clarkstown South Girls Soccer Routs East Ramapo

Vikings stop East Ramapo at home, 7-1.

The Clarkstown South girls soccer team hosted East Ramapo in a league match on a cold and rainy Monday afternoon and boosted their league record with a 7-1 victory.

The Vikings made it clear early in the first half that East Ramapo had their hands full. They pulled away early and kept adding to their lead.

East Ramapo did not really seem to be on the same page defensively. They had trouble clearing the ball from their zone and turned the ball over in the mid-field again and again.

Not only did South seem to be moving the ball and defending better, every loose ball seemed to bounce their way. The Vikings simply did an excellent job of capitalizing on almost every chance that came their way. They were also able to create chances themselves.

The Vikings are now 6 – 2 on the season and 2 – 0 in the league. Head Coach Tom Rolston is looking ahead at the rest of the season with confidence after seeing his girls play so well on Monday.

"We have a make-up game against North Rockland coming up and we would really like to beat them," said Rolston. "Trying to go undefeated for the rest of the season."

The Lady Vikings have high hopes for the rest of the season and hope to stay undefeated in the league on the road against Suffern on Wednesday.
