Cops: New City Man Overdosed, Crashed Ford Pickup Into Trees
Orangetown police said the incident happened just before 6 a.m. Wednesday.

ORANGETOWN, NY -- Police called to the scene of a single-car accident at 5:51 a.m. Wednesday found, they say, a pick-up truck lodged in a group of trees near the parking area of 94 Old Orangeburg Road. The driver was unconscious.
They broke the passenger side window of the Food F-150 to get the driver out and began resuscitation.
In the process, police said, they discovered evidence of heroin use and possession. Packages of heroin and hypodermic needles were found near the driver's seat.

Officers administered Narcan, the opioid overdose antidote. South Orangetown Ambulance Corps and Rockland Paramedics arrived. More Narcan was administered.
The driver, who regained consciousness, was taken to Nyack Hospital for treatment of injuries from the crash and for the alleged overdose.

Kevin Brady, of New City, has been charged with:
- criminal possession of a controlled substance
- driving while impaired by drugs
- driving while intoxicated
The 32-year-old also faces vehicle and traffic charges. He will be served with a summons upon release from the hospital, police said.
