Coronavirus: Rockland Clerk, Sheriff Suspend Some Services
Suspended are pistol permitting, pistol safety classes and appointments to be fingerprinted.
ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — Rockland County Clerk Paul Piperato and Sheriff Louis Falco, III announced that their offices have taken the following measures to be temporarily adopted in response to public health concerns regarding the outbreak of new coronavirus.
Concerns over the virus officially known as COVID-19 — which has infected more than 127,000 people worldwide and caused about 4,700 deaths — have had far-reaching effects. In a series of drastic moves, the NBA, NHL and MLS suspended their seasons and the NCAA canceled March Madness tournaments. The PGA Tour canceled the Players Championship after the first round. The virus also prompted President Donald Trump to restrict travel from Europe in addition to China.

-  Suspension of the issuance of pistol permits by the County Clerk’s Office.
-  Suspension of fingerprinting appointments at the Rockland Sheriff’s Office.

This protocol will be in effect until April 8 when it will be re-evaluated for either
extension or revocation.
