County Exec's Swearing-In To Be LiveStreamed

Due to the COVID-19 surge, protocols will be followed at the actual ceremony including social distancing, masks and proof of vaccination.

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY — Ed Day will be ceremonially sworn in for his third term in office as Rockland County Executive at noon Monday.

With awareness of current local circumstances, heightened COVID-19 protocols have been put in place for the ceremony at the Rockland County Fire Training Center in Pomona, including temperature checks, proof of vaccination, social distancing, and a mask requirement, said county spokesman John Lyon.

Additionally, due to the need to social distance, there will be extremely limited seating, RSVP required

However, the event will be live-streamed on the Rockland County Government YouTube page.

In Rockland, 83 people were reported hospitalized with COVID-19 as of Wednesday. Five people have died of the disease since Dec. 22. There are 5,850 active cases in the county.
