Day Deplores Legislative Budget Override
Rockland lawmakers restored positions for which there will be no work, said the County Executive.

Rockland County Executive Ed Day issued a statement Wednesday regarding the Legislature’s Tuesday night overrides of select line item vetoes in the 2016 Budget:
I am extremely disappointed that the Legislature restored several jobs for which there will be no work in 2016. As for the restoration of unarmed security positions, I have directed Sheriff Falco to use his professional skills to immediately develop and implement a plan which incorporates armed security with Sheriff’s Department personnel to adequately protect county facilities, starting January 1, 2016. The Legislature not only voted to override my vetoes, they voted against the taxpayers of Rockland County.
