Drugs In The Glove Box: 2 Arrested In Clarkstown

An officer of the Rockland County Sheriff's Department on patrol on the Palisades Parkway pulled a car over for erratic driving at 2:30 a.m.

CLARKSTOWN, NY — An officer from the Rockland County Sheriff's Department patrolling the Palisades Parkway pulled a car over for erratic driving and ended up making a drug bust.

The incident occurred at 2:30 a.m. Aug. 8, according to the announcement from Sheriff Louis Falco.

The officer reported seeing a woman operating a motor vehicle on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in an erratic manner.

After the car was pulled over in Clarkstown, police concluded the driver was intoxicated. She was arrested. Then, police said, they found 3.82 ounces of a white powdered substance in the glove box.

The passenger was also placed under arrest.

Aracelis Silverio, 45, of New York City, faces charges of driving while intoxicated,

Rafael Pichardo was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, and criminal possession with intent to sell.

Both were arraigned in the Town of Clarkstown justice court and were released without bail.
