Early Morning Fire Destroys New City Home

Clarkstown police said they were called at 5:20 a.m.

NEW CITY, NY — An early morning fire destroyed a home on Strawtown Road in New City on Wednesday.

Clarkstown Police said they responded at 5:20 a.m. to a reported structure fire at 192 Strawtown Road. They found the single-family home engulfed in flames. The two adult residents were found outside the home, uninjured.

New City firefighters extinguished the fire, with assistance from multiple mutual aid companies. New City Ambulance and Rockland Medics were on scene to assist as needed.

The Clarkstown Detective Bureau is investigating the cause of the fire, there is no determination as to the origin at this time.
