Higher Threat of Brush Fires Spreading: Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Northern Westchester

The National Weather Service has released a special statement.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and northern Westchester counties. It was posted at 3:37 a.m. Monday. It is in effect until 8 a.m. Wednesday.

...Enhanced Threat for Brush Fire Spread this Afternoon...
The combination of warm temperatures, low daytime relative humidity, gusty winds and dry fuels will lead to an enhanced threat of brush fire spread this afternoon.
Winds will be northwest this afternoon at 10 to 20 mph with gusts 25 to 30 mph. The minimum relative humidity will range mainly between 25 and 30 percent.
