Neighboring fire companies helped.

NEW CITY, NY — An early morning fire at a New City condo complex was contained to one unoccupied unit. Firefighters from New City handled the blaze on Heritage Drive with mutual aid from Congers, West Nyack, Hillcrest, West Haverstraw and Nanuet. It was called in by an alert neighbor.

"Great job all," said New City Secondary Fire Chief John Latanzio on the Rockland Fires Facebook page. "Fantastic stop."

The fire doesn't seem to be suspicious at this time, Clarkstown police said.
