Firefighters Find Illegal Wig Warehouse in Burning Apartment Building
Volunteers from Monsey, New City, Hillcrest, Spring Valley, Suffern, Tallman and Thiells responded to the blaze, The Journal News reported.

Stacks of boxed merchandise created dangerous and difficult conditions for firefighters battling a blaze in a Monsey apartment building Monday, according to The Journal News.
The fire apparently started in the basement, where bars blocked windows. The basement and an upstairs area was apparently being used for storage by the owner, who has a wig business in Brooklyn, the paper said. Firefighters had to fight through plastic-wrapped boxes — many of which ended up in the yard as volunteers from seven fire companies worked to extinguish the fire, which left 25 people homeless.
"This can get firemen killed," Monsey Fire Chief Tony Layman told TJN reporter Steve Lieberman.
