Funeral Service is Dec. 5 for James Palmer

Mr. Palmer was 72.

James Palmer passed away peacefully in his sleep early on Sunday morning, November 30th, 2014, at his home in Pomona, NY.

He is survived by his wife Deborah Palmer. His daughter, April Palmer-Cortes and husband Eddie Cortes Jr. of New Hempstead, NY and their two sons Eddie James and Emari Luciano. His stepson, William Minniefield and wife Reiko of Valley Cottage, NY, and their two kids Olivia and Vincent. His stepdaughter Victoria Ponella and husband Tom of Garnerville, NY, and their two daughters Angelina and Alyssa. His daughters Pamela, Loretta and Tanya of North Carolina and his son Edward. His 9 siblings in North Carolina and New York and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

James was born on April 4, 1942 in South Boston, Virgina. He is the eldest of 12 children. He met and married his wife, Deborah, 37 years ago. He worked as a shop foreman at A&F Tire and Battery in Stony Point, NY for over 25 years.

James was loved and well liked by so many. Everywhere he went he made sure people were smiling. One of his favorite things to tell people was if they didn’t have a smile on their face he would give them one of his. He was a truly remarkable man and will be so missed.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday Dec. 5 at 11 AM at the Risen King Alliance Church, 190 New Hempstead Rd, New City, NY 10956. A Wake will be held on Thursday evening from 6PM until 9 PM at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack.
