Hazardous Outlook Issued For The Lower Hudson Valley

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous outlook for the lower Hudson Valley.

For Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties, the NWS says: Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon and evening hours as a cold front passes through the area.

Scattered thunderstorms are also expected in Dutchess and Ulster.

• Tuesday - Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of showers early, then a chance of showers with a slight chance of thunderstorms this morning. Showers likely with a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. Some thunderstorms may produce gusty winds this afternoon. Highs in the lower 70s. South winds around 5 mph, becoming west around 5 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.
• Tuesday night - Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then partly cloudy after midnight. Some thunderstorms may produce gusty winds in the evening. Lows around 50. North winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent.
• Wednesday - Sunny. Highs in the mid 60s. North winds 5 to 10 mph.
• Wednesday Night - Partly cloudy. Lows around 50. Northwest winds around 5 mph.
• Thursday - Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 60s. North winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.
