7:30AM: The National Weather Service has issued a notice for today and tonight for Putnam, Rockland and Westchester Counties:
Severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening. Damaging wind gusts and large hail will be the primary threats.
“It’s going to be a muggy, sticky day across the Hudson Valley,” predicts Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. “The heat and humidity set the stage for the threat of afternoon T-Storms. A cold front will approach from the northwest… and drive cool, dry air… into the heat and humidity. That clash of air masses will cause atmospheric instability… and voila.”
